Wendy's Strawberry Shortcake Frosty Parfait Review

Image
Okay, so I was craving something sweet... as always.
So I stopped by Wendy's for lunch, and this caught my eye.
At $1.79 it's not a bad deal.
So it's basically a vanilla frosty, with strawberry syrup, fresh strawberries, and shortbread crumb pieces. The crumby things are GOOD! You know those Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bars? Tastes like a deconstructed one!  A little too much syrup in mine, but I just left it on the bottom and it was all good. I'd take this over a McDonald's strawberry sundae. Yeah I said it~ What you gonna do? :D Have a good weekend everyone!!

You know you can freeze them, and eat/drink them later too! My fav is Mango-a-go-go blended chunky (with chunks of mango). The Berry UPBeet one is good too, less sugar, and has veggies in it.

How to get... Free Starbucks?!?

Image
So I know this is a cupcake/dessert blog, but it's only my 3rd post, so that can easily change. Coffee blog? Bargain blog? Who knows. Whatever I feel like talking about blog? What goes better with dessert than coffee anyway right? So onto the good stuff.

How to get free Starbucks!? It's my goal to never pay for Starbucks again. I go everyday and get an iced triple espresso with soy. Sometimes in my personal cup (10 cents off) sometimes not. Occasionally I'll add a breakfast sandwich. This adds up people! My drink is $2.45 everyday. Let's say half the time I bring my personal cup and maybe five days I get a sandwich ($2.95). That's a total of $89.20! Ayyayay~ I just worked that out. Kay maybe it's not Never, but still it'll cover a lot.

I have an app called Shopkicks on my iPhone. It's available on Android too. But, basically you get points for walking into stores that you'd normally go to. You just turn on the app, and hit "walk in" and …

Frosted Cupcakery Review - Long Beach

Image
So today, I went to Frosted Cupcakery on 2nd Street in Long Beach. The storefront was super cute!

The yelp reviews said to try the red velvet cupcake.
They have these things called hi tops that are basically muffin tops with cream in the middle, like a cupcake sandwhich. We got the salted caramel one and the red velvet one. I got the chocolate coconut cupcake, just because I love coconut!

First of all, the person who helped us was not very nice. :( What a way to ruin a great cupcake experience. Oh well, all can be salvaged by a beautiful cupcake right?

We tasted the caramel hi top first. UGH! SO SWEET! like sugary sweet. The cake part tastes a little salty, almost like corn bread, while the frosting was sticky, sugary, buttery sweet. It was just too much.

My friend tried the red velvet hi-top and said it was much better. Unfortunately, I didn't get a taste of that one :(

On to the Coconut Chocolate cupcake!

Okay so it's pretty, and comes in a little holder so it doesn't …

Mini Pistachio Cupcakes

Image
Hello!  To start off my blog, I'll post about these cute mini pistachio cupcakes. I got the recipe from tablespoon.com. I'll post the link below. First of all, not too many ingredients, which I like. (I'm so lazy!) Second, super yummy. This was my first time making mini cupcakes, I usually make regular size ones, so I didn't know how much to put in. I'd say between 2/3 & 3/4 full would be perfect.

The batter was a bit runny at first, but it thickened up because of the pudding mix.  My mini muffin tin holds 24 cakes, and I had to use it 3.5 times! I'm definitely gonna get another pan~
After was the frosting. The recipe says to use 1/3 cup of sugar, but I only used 1/4. I like to use this piping bag to make it neat. If you tie the bottom right before the opening with a clothespin or something before you fill it, you can prevent a huge mess.

So cute! I love them! The recipe is super simple to follow as well.  See below for the link.
